We've got Neopets happymeals, Neopets plushies, Neopets keychains, Neopets stickets, etc. What happened to "We don't want to make money, we just break even using the advertising\!" Point 2: Sponsor Games 99% of the NEW games on the site are sponsor games. Most are the same as other games, and are very, very simple, but the characters or the background are changed. These games are the opposite of inventive. Point 3: Wars Wars on Neopets are very boring. You sit around and attack the same enemy a billion times and then you (might) be able to get a bigger one to fight\!It's like in [Pokemon] where you have almost beat the game, except the developers have messed up and given you Level 2 Rattata to fight, rather than Level 70 Gravelers. Point 4: Message Boards Greedy Adam and Donna. A while ago, there was a message board called General Chat, where all the media driven "get a girlfriend cause you should\!" 7 year olds posted OMFFIGLJG 15/M/ALASKA WILL U BE MEH GIRLFRIENDSZ\!?\!/ Instead of hiring new monitors, they froze accounts of people that didn't do anything, and destroyed the GC, making the aforementioned people go to other boards where WE had to handle them.

A virtual game that used to be fun, and the staff members cared about you and your account. Not anymore. The staff is too deep into advertising to care about anyone anymore. The only thing they care about now is making money. Neopets doesnt care about the quality of their site anymore. For example, the McDonalds promotion. Does neopets care that the site cannot handle so many new members? No. As long as Neopets gets their page views, their sponsors will pay them. Soon they will have a premium service, where paying consumers will have the benefit. More avatars, more random events, and so on. What used to be a cool pet site, but now sucks. And here are the top 10 reasons why: 1: Shameless Advertising. They have 3 advertisements on almost every page. One on the top, one on the bottem, and one on the side. Advertising things like online dating services, weight loss programs, and phone companies. Plus they have countless sponser games. And even make sponser items (bubble yum, sweet tarts, etc.) 2: Neo Staff favoring certin users. Let's face it, there's only a handful of people TNT (theneopetsteam) actually give a shit about. Featheralley, Hrobi, Garret_jaxx (sp?), Hubrids_mansion, Jazz_invinceable , and a coupple others. Thease people will not be iced no matter how many rules they brake. 3: Message boards. The message board used to be cool... like four years ago. Now they suck. Neopets changed the format to look more professional... and screwed everything up. Completely deleteing the GC (general chat), which used to be cool. Before n00bs took over. 4: Glitches and bugs. Neopets has countless glitches and bug which they will never fix. I myself have lost well over 15 million in items and np's (example: I lost a SOS while taking it off my pet. Plus I've lost large sums of neopoints countless times while trying to put them into the bank.) And neopets never refunds anything you lost during a glitch... unless you're featheralley of course... 5: Cheaters Neopets is full of gay ass asain cheaters. They've made it impossibble for anyone who dosn't cheat to get on a high score list for a game. 6: They're Hypocrits They'll freeze your account if you post pictures of yourself in which you are slightly imosdestly dressed. And yet they have faeries with their boobs hanging out all over the site, wearing skirts that sure show alot-o-theigh. They'll freeze you if you mention any achollolic bevrages, and yet they have them as items on their site\! *points to a certin item called "red wine" and many other wines* Noooo cussing. Or else they'll freeeezeee youuuu. *points to the old maraqua vid with the pirate swearing.... aloso points to the faerie who swears* mmhmmm. 7: Scams The site is full of people trying to scam other players. Pretty much the only reason guilds exist anymore is for people to host scams. 8: No origional games Every fuckin game on that site is a ripoff of another game. 9: It's understaffed They have far too few monitors for the amount of people who use the site. 10: Report Happy Users People will report you for ANYTHING on that site. And I mean anything. And regardless to what neopets says, no, they DON'T actually check inot the situation. I've been faulsely reported and frozen countless times. If you mearly say something like "I don't like Good Charlotte, I prefer Dropkick Murphys." ... someone WILL report you, and if enough twits report for it, you WILL be frozen. And those are the top ten reason why neopets sucks. Though if you still like to play regardless of those reasons here's the top 10 tips on how NOT to get iced 1: Don't have anything on your user look-up 2: Don't talk to ANYONE 3: Don't be in a guild 4: Don't have a pet 5: Don't play any games 6: Don't share a computer with anyone or anything 7: Don't buy anything from any shop 8: Don't log on from ANY other computer 9: Don't leave for 3 years then log back into your account 10: Don't get anything from the money tree. Created in 1999, Neopets is a never-ending online game, in which you take care of pets, buy/sell/trade items, earn NP through games/auctions/shops, and chat on the messageboards. It used to be a fun way to kill time, but now the Neopets Team is too obsessed with putting their Neopets brand out there with annoying merchandise and promotions at stores no one in the world knows the locations of. Neopets is dying a slow, painful death because the Neopets Team is too busy sitting in front of their computers all day and night, eating pizza and doughnuts, and randomly freezing people's accounts for no apparent reason. Plus, they don't even put out New Features relevant to the average user anymore.

Neopets: A highly controversial online game. As already evidenced by previous entries, opinions on Neopets tend to reflect past experiences. There are, of course, some who would immediately reject the game as a spawning-place for lifeless teenaged losers. Those people show up wherever you go, criticizing whatever you do - their opinions certainly don't need to have value in this case. Speaking as an insider who's had both good and bad experiences with the site since I began playing in 2001, here are some interesting points: -The Neoboards are terribly, terribly understaffed. As a result, TNT (theneopetsteam) has implemented a user-to-user monitoring system that, in retrospect, was bound to backfire horribly. Neopets needs to put more emphasis on the boards, seeing as how communication is so vital between members - I should know, having chosen a life of neo-isolation. An absolutely *massive* revamp of that system is required for the sake of the site's survival. -Though some changes have been met with a huge amount of controversy, some have evidently sparked die-hard supporters. The restocking system, for instance, while admittedly giving the upper hand to those with more time and a faster internet connection, has become a very popular game to many of these fans. The wide variety of items and shops ensures constant interest. -My own account was frozen after three years of playing - I had apparently been 'cheating' using several different accounts to gain Neopoints. Here's a shocker: it was true, and I'll admit it. I just never expected to get caught. My only experience with TNT's Ice-o-matic was justly deserved. But I know full well that such isn't always the case. Once again: you need more staff to handle all these new users you're drawing in with advertising\! Much as the most devoted players become obsessed with the idea of acquiring Neopoints, the Neopets staff, given the image of shiny new publicity for a pet project, has fallen into the river of commercialisation and we're all being pulled downstream...

As with anything, Neopets has both its flaws and perks. What is horribly frustrating (and totally unforgiveable) is that the Neopets staff refuses to change anything dramatically to better suit the needs of the clients\!

November 15th 1999, Neopets begins as a harmless little site where you raised you pets and the site was clean of anything bad. The staff cared about the users and so one. Now Neopets isn't such a safe place now on the internet. The entire staff has set up the site and rules almost similar to a communist nation. And the owner's corruption and greed will lead to the site's destruction. First off, Neopets has many rules. Some keeps the site clean, while others tear it apart. One of the rules is do not discuss religion or political veiws on the site. Now if I'm not mistaken, a thing about communism was sensorship. Not only are you not allowed to talk religion/polotics, but certtain words posted can easily get you warned or iced. When you get warned it's by theneopetsteam (The sites secret police). The warning of course is an automatic thing which is corruted now, so you don't even need to say something wrong. You can get warned for posting "Hilary Duff looks like a Yurble". Second, the site also freezes you if they talk bad about them or TNT (short for theneopetsteam). They have changed the site, making it almost equal for every user. Though sometimes it's not fair. Like when the staff got rid off glowing and shadow fonts. When they did that (Because others using different browses couldn't see) it upseted a lot of people, but a few days later, they have a new option that lets you disable fonts, making a user see normal black fonts. This isn't fair to those that had a nice font because the staff could have done that and keep the glow/shadow fonts. Third, going back to TNT andunfair rules. Basicly TNT is the secret police of the site. You break a rule you get iced/warned, but there are loop holes in the site rules that people abuse (Like me) and then those who follow the rules and stuff were known to be iced. The term "iced" is what happens when your account is disabled. If you are iced, you can never be defrosted unless you are friends with the staff members. In fact, about 25% of iced accounts are people who done nothing wrong, but the automatic monitors (TNT) also uses loop holes and freeze you. This has been done so much that some people make new accounts and add on to the counter (The ammount of users on the site, frozen and active). More accounts filling the counter, the more the staff gets paid by sponsers. And the make the matter of using your time to on the site to pretty much give money to some lazy bastard, TNT has created a number of "hidden rules" these rules aren't shown in the Neorules, but are used as an excuse for giving out warnings or freezing people. A.so with the hidden rules and loops in the systems TNT will most likely give you a false warning (One time I got warned for "spamming" ,something I've never done) for giving advice or something like rating a picture (By the way, there is no rule against that). And something everyone should know, reasons Neopets is similar to a communist nation. Most things on the site were made to make things equal. This includes: Item codes: You buy an item and you not only haggle, but you must type in a code too Avatars: Some avatars are easy for all to get, while others aren't Pets: Everyone gets the equal maximum pets you can keep (Max: 4), but the owner has five Items: Due to avatars, items are raised at a high price now, making only those who have played the site from the begining get them So there you have it, the secret of Neopets (it may be confusing though)

Neopets Used to be cool 3 years ago in 2001. Now, in 2004, it is horrible. You can't buy anything from the main shops, because they put too few items out at a time, and too many users grab them before you can even begin to haggle. The shops are almost always empty. The restock times are random, and not every 8 minutes like they claim, but more often once an hour or LESS. New players can't hope to make enough neopoints to enjoy playing or afford anything good, and if anyone discovers a way to make neopoints the staff will destroy it, as they feel no one should be able to have a lot of neopoints. The wars are pointless, and pet gets sick after one battle and can't fight in the battledome anymore when sick. The cures are too expensive, except the healing springs, so you have to wait half an hour to even try to heal. Lastly, you are supposed to have a virtual pet, but in fact you don't get to do anything with them except paint them or battle, and only the rich in Neopoints can afford to pay to make their pets stronger. You can not gain skills or get anything by using your neopet, so the game is now mostly just frustrating and pointless. Go play runescape instead, it is a fun game you can actually play.

Bugs they won't fix: Multiplayer armada: known bug- if you block the opponent from moving, and only you can move, you win right? WRONG\! The game ends, doesn't tell you who won, and the opponent who can't move wins. Neopets will not fix this and will not reply to users. They have a screw you attitude for players, and obviously hate everything but making money from sponsors and merchandise, they have become evil. They make games you can't win, but they don't tell you they are rigged. Latest example: Test your strength. The jackpot is supposedly Jackpot : 190,583,500 NP, but in fact no bank account can hold over 40 million, so it is not possible to win. But every day thousands try, not knowing they are just wasting thier NP on something they can't win. Do you want your children playing on a site that does this? Neopets needs competition from a user-responsive site that actually makes playing fun and rewarding.

A virtual pet site that started in 1999. Its main objective was for the user to adopt up to four pets of whatever species was available and feed/play with/train them. The currency you used to buy items on the site was called neopoints which could be earned through games, trade, shops, random events, or sexual e-favors to the staff. Thus everyone became a money hungry whore who played games 24/7 because a paintbrush is worth more than their soul and/or social life. Games include snake, tetris, brick, pong, memory, and bastardized versions of poker, blackjack, horse races, and slot machines. All of which are sure to cause a gambling problem in your child before they reach puberty. After you waste a month or so playing this (not really) cleverly disguised shit you can go buy 10,000 neopoints worth of imaginary crap that will never appear in your inbox anyway because the site is riddled with glitches no one ever fixes. You also had the option of communicating with pedophiles, rapists, 14 year old girls, and other assorted neopet members via the neoboards. There were a few different boards such as Trading and Shops where you'd advertise your overpriced shit and hope some 8 year old would buy it, the Quests board where you'd beg people to give you their shit that you needed "for a quest", the Guild board that ran on shameless self promotion and weirdos trying to get you to join their cult, the Roleplay board where you could pretend to be an angsting 13 year old with an alcoholic father or a vampire, and of course the general chat where you could cyber with a horny, balding, middle aged porn addict who says there a 16 year old blonde female. The general chat was taken down after the staff dislodged their heads from their asses for two seconds to see what the hell was going on there. Now everyones on the Evil Things And Monster Sightings board where the majority of users complain about [emo], [lables], whos [goth] and whose not, [emo], not being a [conformist], making fun of [conformists], [emo], how much they hate "greenday", [emo], complaining about "[preps]" and "[posers]" even though they hate [lables], and ummmmm... [Emo]. Basically its a magical land filled with hypocrisy and bad grammar. The basic format of the site has changed dramatically over the years also. It used to be pretty basic with no ads or fancy flashing bullshit. Now in order to access the shops you must have a flash plug in that not everyones computer supports (especially if you live in the [ghetto]) and put up with 3 annoying bannars every second you're on the frikken site. Neopets.com also has a strict set of rules to follow if you don't want your account to be frozen or "iced" as I think they're calling it these days. They basically consist of bullshit only idiots would attempt, fall for, or get caught doing. If you actually report anyone for breaking the rules you are a whore. To sum it up neopets was cute for 3 seconds. Then the [communists]/[capitolists] took over.

Neopets was once a fun little site, but now it has become addictave and unfair. Some people say that people only think it is unfair cause you got frozen. I got frozen unfairly. It said I posted something inapropiate and so I submitted it to be looked over and got frozen. Now I see the light. Neopets is not the GREAT of a site. It is just a descise of Evil. I hate the site now. The games get boring cause they are over played. Adds everywhere. Unjust rules. (You cannot talk about Christianity, but you can talk about wiccans, vampires, and witchcraft.) The filter has too many flaws, and Like many people said if you get too many neopoints they automatically think that you are scamming or using multiple accounts and you loose all your hard work. I think that there are alot more fun virtual pet sites out there if you look. And If you go for just the boards I know there are better boards. I say stop before Neopets takes you completly over and you become a drone. Another problem is all the n00bs. They are looking for b/f, or g/f. I think if you are looking on that site then you just are so sad you can't get one in the real world. So I know just find Neopets a BIG dissapointment.

I once had 500,000 neopoints but my account got frozen because they thought I hacked onto other peoples accounts. Wtf.

This site is fucking satan in a box. I'm not even kidding. It contains the effects of the following: nicotine speed caffiene TNT (theneopetsteam) only cares about a few select people, who in all honesty probably arent even people but bots made to look like someone that has no life. They dont want constructive criticism, they just want plain, cookie cutter, "nothing is wrong" people who wont care what happens because TNT will just keep playing favorites with them. For example. A few years back, there was a hacker. Hacked into the bases and reset a lot of peoples pets. It was blamed on a "mis-firing lab ray", which is an excuse a freaking three year old could tell is about as likely to be true as britney spears ever having scored over a twelve on an iq test. Hundreds of people are screwed over, but some select people got their stuff back. Coincidence? And then one time for an april fools joke, i had made the name "featherallley" (it had an extra "l"). went to the boards and posted "hi". nothing but "hi". within minutes i was iced. Which makes me wonder about the kind of game where theres actually a nickname for getting banned. Thats what people call it there, "iced". They've gone totally sell out, where 3 out of 4 games are sponsor games and 99/100 games are completely pathetic and could probably give you cancer just from playing them. It will steal your soul. Stay away from this at all costs.

An online game that once, in a distant time, was fun. I was on neopets years ago, before all this idiotic advertising. Then, the admins weren't all uptight, but cared about you and the site. They once even came onto the boards, and you were allowed to 'neomail' them. But such times are gone. You can get frozen for anything at all. (I got two accounts frozen twice in two days for commenting on how the site went downhill.) There was once a board called 'General Category' that one day, for no real reason, was removed. This was generally the 'idiot pen' and without it, the idiots roamed free. They all seemed to choose to go to the 'FC' where the roleplayers hung out. And that was the FCs demise. Slowly roleplays became more rare, and are now gone altogether. An 'IFC' was made in a secretive location. I was invited and it was fun for awhile. But the 'FCers' that went there simply became the idiots they hated, minus the chatspeak. There really isn't much reason to go anymore.

Neopets has really just turned into a merchandise spot.

TNT sits on their throne and freezes users for being rich or just being a user or just because they have nothing better to do (try making the site a little more user-friendly, bitches\!). The n00bs at the Help boards sit there and wait for unsuspecting newbies to ask an innocent question and then the attack you like a swarm of bees yelling "Oh mi geee uR LYK t0talLY rEp0rtED\!\!\!\!11\!\!\!111\!" and then TNT says they check each report thoroughly, but in reality they see if enough people report the matter and freeze them and when they ask for their account back they say "Why don't you try asking the people on the Help boards. They will be more than happy to help." I CANT GO ON THE BOARDS YOU SONOFABITCH\! YOU FROZE ME\! They wouldnt even let me type the word "naughty" when I was quoting it from Harry Potter\! They care too much about their sponsors to even begin to think about what is best for their users. They say, "No profanity allowed.", but the faeries practically work for Playboy showing all their cleavage\! Have some dignity\! They won't let you say "I believe in Christ". But they will let you say "Wiccans will rule the earth and kill you\!". Come on\! Neopets\! What happened to it? Where did they go wrong???

Neopets is a majorly corrupted bitter-sweet game on the internet. It is run by about a handful of people, who used to be caring, but they have been corrupted by the [Mcdonalds] franchise. "Plushies", "Item Codes", and all sorts of junk have been placed on brands. Rumours have been going around, so I'm going to collect them here 1.Neopets is Communist. This seems entirely accurate, for the game will "Ice" you for almost anything, and to prove this, here is an extract I got from the site. "Posting sexual or offensive material (language, images and usernames)." Cencorship is part of this balanced communist diet. You could be iced for posting, on the [NeoBoards], a range of things. Opinions, Ratings, Get-Togethers, and the list goes on. 2. Neopets is HACKED. This sprouted from the fact that studies have been made, to prove that Twenty-Five Percent of users have been Iced, Warned, or had their Account deleted. That is a startling rate for averagely six or seven people to handle in, say, two years. 25% of Eighty Million, too. To be able to do that, you would have to be, like, an Insomniac whos only life is made up of Control and the letter "D". 3. Bought out. This seems the most likely, because something very startling is that at approximately 5 monts consecutavly of eachother, 3 brand names became infected with the Neo-disease. I'm going to start calling it Neoitis. So, in 5 monts, 3 was the average Neoitis count. Donna and Adam were probably rolling in riches by now. Two months went by, and another company was hit. Toys-R-Us. They started supplying the company with Trading Cards. But then "they" came. It was terrifying. They flocked in over the boards, and stole everything from the main plaza. But then it hit "The team". They realized that if they Ice more people, they will want more accounts, so they'd make more, and that would make their pay rise. But they, they got thrown out. Replaced with machines, I broke free from this disease, this Neoitis, and moved on to bigger and better things. A thing called "Life". Thank you, and I sincerely hope you break free of this disease.

This is a site created in 1999 by Adam Powell and his friend Donna Williams (I think). At the beggining, it was a pretty low quality site. Effortless art and broken images made the site have a bad view for many, however NOW, this site has taken off like a rocket at these scumbags are making tons of money off of crappy ads and a feature called "Premium Neopets", which is a version of neopets you PAY for, and get the staff (Known as 'TNT' or The Neopets Team) to favor you. Other than that the staff will not listen to you, not respond to your emails, and just completely not care about you. People get paid by sitting at a desk, and freezing peoples accounts for anything. The site is full of report happy kids that will report you for anything you say. And then the staff people see the report, and figure "K, he/she did something bad" and they will freeze your account right off the spot. Forever. And now, this good for nothing website - that I was once addicted to for 4 years - has video games, and toys being produced. They are sucking every child in america and now even around the world to play on this website. Why? They are bastards who love money. Thats it. They care about NOTHING but money, and the people giving them money. I cannont believe people above 16 can play on such a fucktarded excuse for a "fun" game. Its.. just.. little kids who love cute things.. and if they see that cute little toy, they are going to beg mommy to buy - and of course, she will, unknowing the fact she is just giving money to people who dont care. Neopets is okay for a while, but after a bit you get tired of it and realize how stupid it was of you to spend 16 hours a day trying to change how a 150x150 pixel looks. The games can be fun for killing time, but if you get too carried away with earning neopoints, it takes away the fun. Sometimes the neopets staff is good, but usually they aren't. I've had an instance where they have been excellent to me. Someone I knew had managed to get into my account and I emailed. After a while, a nice staff member believed me and restored me access to my acount. The staff seems to be obsessed, however, with freezing and warning. For instance, if you mention any sort of religion you get frozen or warned, even if you just say something like "I don't eat pork, I'm Jewish" or "I'm a Christian." Overall, neopets can be fun to play, but don't get addicted to it.

A really fun game back in around 1999-2004 and was favored my people of all ages until it broke away no long ago. Here are a few reasons why it sucks now: 1. Overadvertising. Ads everywhere. One big one on the bottom, one big one on the top, one on the side, and NOW they even have one in their flash game popups\! 2. Lies. They freeze your account, and when you ask for it back, they go "Sorry we cannot retrieve it because its been inactive for too long" (that was the excuse they gave me) 3. They are greedy. First it was the Neopets merchandise, didn't work out. Then it was Neopets premium, didn't work out. Then they made sidebars and avatars, didn't work out so they basically retired sidebars and all avatars since none even come out anymore. NOW they have NC Cash Shop and Mall so you can dress your Neopets in clothes. Everything new requires real money. If you don't have real money, they will spare you a free 150 NC to spent on a piece of crap. Too many hassles, advertisement links and ads\!\!\!\! 4. Annoying. First it was the game. They keep renaming games from "Whack A Kass" to "Kass Basher", "Whack a Staff Member" to "TNT Staff Smasher" and the "Scratchcard Kiosk" to "Ice SC Kiosk" They even change the old games they were fun. Now their new games take forever to load on dialup (so you better have some good internet) Has stupid annoying music, and have stupid intros that you can't skip and take forever to start the game. Games are now more complicated and more annoying. Doesn't always send score the time you want it to, so you'd have to play the game AGAIN. 4. Ugly interface. Other than the addition of 1090848322 more ads on the page, the interface is ridiculous. I do not need to see my active Neopet everywhere. Go to my items, see my pet's picture two times, go to references, see my pet's picture three times. Is this necessary?\! What happened to the simple text links?? Games page is overloaded with images when it could have been that simple four category that it had years ago. Userlookups look disgusting now, you can hardly customize it anymore. They add unnecessary features such as the stupid "intro box" in the the items section which makes it even more cluttered and changed pictures that do not need to be changed. 5. Staff members are corny. They choose the worse jokes for contests, the most stupid and most obvious questions to answer, posts compliments by users but never complaints to fix, and in certain contests, they choose actual pictures taken with a camera instead of nicely done digital art work. My art took longer to do than the person's stupid Hershey bar with a hat on it\! They change the Neopets to stupid poses with the fist as if the Neopet is angry (I HATE THIS POSE) and now all the pets look corny and stand the same way. Don't be surprised by all the retired paint brushes and potions, they obviously want you to spend in their NC shop rather than paint your pet. This website is NOT for kids and is ridiculous\! Been there since 2000, and it was fun for about 4-5 years and now it SUCKS. Take my advice and walk away from it.

Neopets... To many it is a site full of excitement; one to be admired. For others, it is a site to be detested. Neopets, when it first came out, was a really good site. You could play games, take care of your pet, and even chat on the Neoboards. Neo life was good back then. What happened next is amazing. On June 20th, 2005, Adam and Donna did something that would soon lead to their sites demise. On that fateful day, Viacom bought Neopets from Adam and Donna for $160,000,000. Ever since Viacom has taken over, there have been no avatars. I do believe the last one was the "Day at the Beach" one, waaaay back in April, '07. Then, shortly after that, the pound closed for maintenance. Then they decided to change the layout of the site, which got hundreds of members flaming mad. Then, the two worthless excuses for a plot. First there was 'The Journey to the Lost Isle' (JTTLI) and another SLOTH plot. *eyeroll* Site change: From the start of the site, until about late 2007, the layout of the site had the following: \#) A sidebar, with all the links to the different locations (Games, Boards, Shops etc.) along with a topbar which led you to your lookup. \#) Now, there is no sidebar, and everything is smashed into one bar at the top of the screen. Granted, it does look neater, but it caused alot of confusion for a very long time. \#) With the new theme change, contriversy started over how The Neopets Team (TNT) is changing the site, and how it's going to come down soon. Avatars: \#) Since the last avatar that was released, people have been complaining about TNT not making any new avatars. \#) Most of the complainers are people who consider themselves "1337" or above everyone else. \#) These so called "1337ists" think they can make an off-topic board, and get away with it; but the VERY SECOND someone who isn't in a "special clique" makes an off-topic board, they flame* them. \{*: To flame someone is to use talk that lowers their self-esteem, while attempting to make yourself look cool\} \#) Most of the people complaining could still get at least 50-100 of the remaining avatars that they still need. Pound: \#) Ever since the site took a turn into the 21st century, the pound has been down. \#) Apparently, TNT needed to revamp (or redo) the pound, because they suddenly found it important for pets to have feelings. \#) This also lead to people complaining. Neopets Mall (NC Mall): \#) About 1-2 months ago, Viacom decided to open up a new store in Neopia Central, which requires you to buy FAKE money, with REAL money. Seriously... Viacom... couldn't you come up with a less obvious way to scam people of their money. Insane freezing/rules: \#) Ever since Viacom has taken control, they feel as though they can freeze you for saying a certain pet looks like a celebrity, or something stupid. \#) They REFUSE to freeze the swarm of scammers (both new and old), but they choose to freeze people that have done nothing wrong. All in all, TNT is/has brought their site to it's own destruction by selling it to that good for nothing company. For example, they make plushie and games in where you get them you get a code you enter to get some rare item or website theme. WOW Here are the main problems with Neopets, the example are given below: 1. They "freeze" you for nothing or being too rich. 2. The staff are too obsessed in money 3. The Boards 4. They dont care about you, only themselves and thier friends. 5. Just dont play it.

1. Yes, I have been frozen about 3 times. On my first account, I was frozen for having 1 million nps that I was saving and they said I scammed someone. Next I made another one with a cloud [Jubjub] which I worked hard for the pb.If you didnt know already [Jubjubs] are wierd little fluffballs with teary eyes. I recieved a neomail to go to a scam website, and I refused. I made a board not to go to it. Then some stupid idiotic report-happy reported me of scamming when I clearly said NOT to go\!\! They recently made the "Neomall" with "neocash", a neopian currency which you have to pay for in Dollars, and all of the merchandise is sold in America, which is unfair to someone who plays in the UK or Australia. That means you have to pay for customizable clothes for your pet, and even stuff for your neohome\! Also they made "Neopets premium" which allows people to get the best of of Neopets, but BOOHOO, You have to pay for it, IN DOLLARS\!\!\! 3. The boards used to be fun, but now they suck. There were no advertisements or sponsor games/items. In about 2004 they started to get a bit more greedy and money hungry, so they started to make [mcdonald's] meals, plushies, books, magazines, keychains, even clothes. This caused a bunch of little kids and n00bs to run wild all over the site, and the deletion of the GC (General Chat) caused them to infest the regular boards, like [Help Chat] and [Avatar Chat]. Then they started to put ads all over the site, some being innapropiate, and sponsor games. The rules became a lot stricter, and now you cannot post any picture of you on the site, doesn't matter how you are dressed, you can be wearing a snowsuit and you would still get frozen. There are absolutely NO swear words, not even 4 letter words like hell or damn, and if you make a board relating to anything in real life, you will be warned. Many users have gotten frozen for no reason, and [TNT] (The Neopets Team) often makes big decisions (like the layout change in 2007) with no consideration of the users. Neopets is still a fun site, with games, items, pets, guilds, chat, graphics, and so much more. It is very enjoyable to unwind for a few hours on Neopets after a long day, but the site isn't what it used to be. Nowadays Neopets has a premium service for almost 100 dollars a year just for a few more random evens and an extra mailbox. They have the [NC Mall] (Neocash Mall), with special clothes and trinkets that move. You can buy [Neocash cards] for up to 25 dollars, or if you have paypal, you can spend as much as you'd like. My conclusion is Neopets is still a very fun site, but it used to be better without the addition of ads, more rules, and merchandise galore.

Many, many, MANY years ago Neo was a site run by caring people who actually took notice of users and got to know them. The mods were nice and understanding, I remember even being FRIENDS with some mods\! That all changed though. Little by little Adam and Donna sold out. Finally, in June of 2005 they sold themselves to Viacom. The users might have well sold their souls to the devil. Ads popped up EVERYWHERE. Now, it is worse than EVER before. There's an ad on the bottom of the screen, on the top of the screen and on BOTH sides of the screen. You can go to a page and a ad will pop up on your screen. The rules also became SUPER SUPER SUPERRRR strict. Before you could at least say Damn\! and What the Hell\! or That Sucks. But NOOOOOO you say suck and your frozen. And what gets to me is that dating and religion and swearing is STRICTLY prohibited but there are ads for Eharmony and things saying WHAT THE HELL and ads for buying a limited edition bible\! WHAT KIND OF JOKE IS THAT??? And the NC MALL. More like Viacoms Money Maker Central. People actually PAY for fake money to use on pixels so your neopet can look like a fruitcake\! Yay\! Yes people ACTUALLY USE IT. They waste money on this crap. And then Viacom freezes them without a second thought. They don't care, just as long as they get their money, they don't care. There were games, boards, and of course, pets. There were 3 categories of games: Action, Puzzle, and Chance. Each one contained 100+ games at least. And each one was fun to play. It was perfect for kids. And best of all, it wasn't there just for getting money. It was actually a game site where the focus was on having fun, not money. Present: Neopets has turned from a game site focused on fun to a site focused on money. The games have been enhanced (like by too many levels), the neopets are 3-D like (and look horrible), and is just horrible. Right now it's just horrible. And you get frozen really easy (ex: saying "sucks" gets you in trouble) It has the NC mall (neocash) and there are two items that I find interesting: The I Love NC mall flag ($1.50) and the I hate NC mall flag ($50). hm... Anybody have 50 bucks I can borrow? Future: Oh my gosh, don't think about what's coming up next. It's probably going to turn into ad palooza.

Neopets is a virtual online game, enjoyed by many players however due to this there are many flaws. Make neopoints, take care of your neopets, play games that are rip offs of classics and put better productivity (making neopoints) into it, collect numerous amounts of things (neocards, tcgs, item specific galleries, ect) with a wide variety of difficulties. Lots of challenging stuff but extremely addictive and time consuming. Cheaters and crackers, scammers and nOObs often threaten your enjoyment of the site, and making neopoints often works better for those with faster connections, however anyone can make nps and become rich if they play enough. Anti-cheat attempts are often pothetic and useless, general public pleasers. Over advertised, and with an overwhelming amount of players (TNT is over critisized, personally, I'd like to see YOU do better without going bankrupt or selling out to some stupid advertising company, not that they couldn't do better, but they could do worse too\! (really) And they do care about members, however there are so many that giving them individual attention is near impossible) TNT desperately needs to find more productive and efficient ways to make money, and need to hire more staff to manage boards and handle glitches and cheats. Perhaps even take a month off of adding new items and just go around freezing people who deserve it. Also, contrary to popular belief about 90% of neopians frozen DESERVE it, I've never cheated and never been frozen (I've been playing for about 16 months now, and have grossed 40+ million, and though I may have a fairly fast internet connection I still made around 4 million on DIAL UP from before I got high speed ;)) It is very strict, but don't break the rules and you won't be frozen, simply put. False reporting DOESN'T work, if you are frozen after being falsely reported it is likely you've broken another unrelated rule. Rules are not properly cited, and lost of people get warnings/suspensions for things they don't even know are against the rules, TNT severely needs to be more specific with current neorules and expand on them, as well as add the less obvious rules, for the morons out there that can't peice together logically cited rules (such as about 50% of the population who have not yet reached puberty) Change is inevitable, but it is colourful, and nice at times, depending on your mood it can be very enjoyable, but try and stay away from being competitive (it only ends in disappointment) I still enjoy neopets, and it's fun in a lot of ways, but it can get really frustrating and depressing sometimes. (and perhaps enduce pessimistic thoughts such as giving up with human life and the will to kill one self) Glitches and flaws are horrible, so overall I'd say it's not something you want to get addicted with, if you do choose to play be ready for many dissapointments, evil temptations, some enjoyment, and anger at TNT because of the flaws or just because everyone else is angry at TNT) A little scatterbrained as always, but I feel this gives a more clear explanation, compared to the pessamistic, over angered crap already given that only gives the bad sides of things. Though there is a lot of bad, it's overall a fun game, just don't get too into it XD Here's a nice chart to sum it up: Points of dissapointment and pessimism: - Messy boards, overly strict censory on what you can say, lots of annoying children or morons on the boards. - Lots of advertisments that cause lag and glitches - Lots of programming errors or other major flaws that get really annoying. - Addictive, and may cause competitiveness. - Overpopulated causing overloaded servers and painful lag, as well as attracting the attention of evil or miserable cheaters, low lifes, and basically people who want to ruin your day. (take "dupe day" for example) - Many conceited children who make the 'upper class' a giant drama pool. - Difficult to learn your way around, as it is so big. Points of enjoyment and optamism: - There are lots of great people you can meet, if you search deep enough. - Working hard does get you somewhere, just not as far as the cheaters which is why you don't want to be competitive or addicted. - Lots and lots of colourful things to do, which can be enjoyable long term or short term entertainment, even if uncreative and repetitive at times. - If you do nothing wrong and can understand the rules and TOS you only have a 5% chance of being frozen every year, so play for 20 years and you should be frozen by then, so try not to get connected XD - Lots of HUGE and amazing challenges, which make it competitive and addicting. - It's always there, though with annoying downtime and glitches. - There's plenty of humour on the site, if you know where to look. - Constantly updated content, though it takes away from the other parts of the site. - Some creative games and activities, though they usually cause too much interest which generates more lag and glitches.

I'm going to go play neopets. Neopets is fun and entertaining, though a flawed game, but don't go overboard with the pessamism. And lastly, avoid the nOObs, and the boards unless you're in the mood. There's plenty of opertunities for fun on neopets\! Just keep your eyes open and balance it with your life ;)

An extremely messed up, overadvertising, dumb, commercialized site started in 1999. If you were a player for a long time, you would understand the stupid changes they made. If you started after 2004, and you're still defending it, you're a stupid fanboy/girl. There is no other word to describe this highly addicting and liferuining site other than STUPID and unfair. Here's reasons why: Overadvertising, commercials, ads, you name it\! You don't even have to visit a porn site or any other busy to the ass sites to see this. Go to Neopets.com and see there's huge ad on top, a huge ad on the bottom, an ad on the right, and now, you even see ads in their popup game windows\! They disabled the popup window games so they can have the games load on the same page as the ads for increase ad revenue. And I bet people go "use Adblock" well let me break it to you, not everyone uses Firefox, and not everyone knows how, and even when you do adblock, it just blocks the ad, not the entire frame. They add different methods of luring people into their site. First they started off with collecting virtual trading cards, and it wasn't good enough because it was free, so that fab dropped. Then in 2004, they added avatars and "Neopets Premium" which gave rich people a few perks just to bribe them to stay, which eventually faded in 2007, so if you wasted your money and neopoints on them for three years, THEY AREN'T RELEASING ANY ANYMORE AVATARS\! Then they added sidebar themes and that eventually stopped because they changed the site to a new cluttered, stupid and disgusting layout. Now they are using the stupid NC Mall and now you use real money to buy your pets some clothes to wear. What happened to the simple Neopets? And then when they "maintenance" the pound because they thought their dumb virtual pets had feelings, what about now? We're dressing up our dumb looking pets acting like they don't even have feelings. Well they never did have feelings because they aren't real. They changed the whole site completely. Other than the fucked up ads they added in, you notice how it went from a simple layout (a sidebar navigation) to then a sidebar navigation and a top bar, and now it's a top bar and another horizontal navigation bar which looks disgusting and had many users angry. Then they had the need to add more "intro boxes" like in your items page, the into would have a stupid image and a small paragraph about what you can do with your items when it's pretty self explanatory. Then on the games page, they changed the simple four images to about 20 tables of categorizing which makes the site look utterly gross and cluttering. And with dialup, you'll take years before that whole page is done loading, along with a few broken images you may get. They also had the need to change the navigation for the shop area that used to be a cool looking scroll with icons on it, now it's just plain text for so stupid reason. They could make all these dumb changes to their layout but they can't even fairly distribute things to their players? Their contests are extremely unfair and hard to win. They act like many players are actually on their site. They choose the corniest jokes, ugliest pictures, and worse random contest projects. They promote favoritism, and treat very famous players nicely and who knows if they are actually real. They have been unfairly freezing people for no apparent reason since 2004 where all the changes started happening. They changed all the Neopets looks for them to fit into the stupid clothes you have to buy to let them wear. Now the all have a hideous pose with their fist coming up. No neopoints? Tough luck, the most anyone would usually get is about 10,000 NP a day spending about two hours playing their repetitive and copied games. You'd save for a year before you get a million NP and before you know it, it's not even that much neopoints. The deal is, if you don't have Neopoints, don't expect the game to be easy. You can be playing your whole life and still be only 20% completed. Their game high scores are impossible to get yet many players managed to get them anyway, so if you're an average player, forget getting a flash game trophy because it will never happen. You can score 9,000 on Suteks Tomb and that's considered good, yet people on the charts oddly scored 100,000 and up. If you don't have fast internet, you could expect yourself not doing shit. Their flash games have to be waited to load, then wait for the background to load, then wait for the actual game to load. Back then it was just a simple clicking on the Chias or the blumaroo head spinning. Now they added these stupid ugly animations that just blinds you. Their games have bad music, long ass intros, you'd watch for like 20 seconds before you can actually play (usually can't skip these small animations) and then you'll realize the game sucks. They also renamed games because they felt they were "offensive." They changed numerous games and a lot of them got the worse changes and made the game heavier to load and longer to start. Sometimes you don't even get your neopoints because there's an "error" when you send score and then you have to play all over again. Everything in the game is massively expensive, things inflat everyday, anything you get can be worth shit, and when you throw it away, the next day it could be 10,000,000 neopoints. They retire so many paint brushes so they can lure you to buy their clothes with REAL MONEY. The left sidebar is annoying as fuck. There's a stupid image of your pet saying the same 5 comments over and over again. Then if you visit your quick references, you see three images of your same pet, then in your items page, you see another two images of your pet. THEY WANT YOU TO GET SICK OF SEEING IT SO YOU CAN WASTE MORE TIME ON THEIR SITE CHANGING YOUR PET OR MAKE YOU SPEND REAL MONEY TO DRESS THEM UP\!\! The staff is so uncaring, mean, give bad excuses and rude comments. They told my unfairly frozen account has been inactive for too long to be recovered, which is a lie. They just me to play MORE on their site. My whole life playing since the changes in 2004, I only got one response from them when I emailed the staff. Usually you send them a message, you never get a response.. NOT EVEN AN AUTO RESPONSE\! So obviously, if you weren't a long term 7 year player like I was, you wouldn't know shit about the changes they did because you just started playing and act like the biggest suck up to the staff. If you HAVEN'T heard of this site, do yourself a favor and stay away from it before it takes you down to hell with them.

I have read quiet accurate deffinitions, so I won't describe what is all about. In my opinion, neopets has always been a rather complicated and unfair game. The difficulty lays in the fact that it is EASIER to make money in the real world, than in neopets world. Actually, it is not a game fit for people who have a real living, such as works, and studies to take care of. Neopets is far from an entertaining game to distract yourself, since it's so frustrating, and it's an enormous time sucker. The frustration of it comes with the fact that it is very hard to combine social life with neopian success. It is almost impossible to win at any of the contests, I am a farily good artist, and I never, ever won the art competition (whatever it's called), and was outsmarted by much worse pictures than mine. I never won the beauty contest either, and only once did I win the storytelling. As far as I remember, you need like millions of neopoints to get a paintbrush, and, in my experience, I was able to get 10,000 np a day, playing several hours. I must say that I stopped playing neopets for those reasons. I needed to study, and further in the future, I started working. Social life, and neopets can't match. To make a virtual comunity, well, it's fine. I find it extremely complicated for children, since they are the most competitive. But as an entertaining game, well, there are other games out there, like the mythical AOE, which is FAR more entertaining than this distorted representation of our actual world.

It is easier to make real money. Real money can be wasted in the following things: Food, a house, a car, a wonderful gift to a loving husband, giving your children the life they deserve. Neopoints: It is far harder to get them, and waisting your time in neopets means waisting time in real life. Neopoints can be spent in the following: brushes, food, clothes (all virtual, obviously), weapons, etc. Now choose your priorities. I've chosen.

I personally like Neopets. It's generally a more childish website, though teenagers and adults play also. Some features it has are: -Pets You raise a virtual pet. No neopets are real animals, though some you can tell are supposed to look like a real or fictional animal. Some species are unis, xweetoks, usuls, peophins, myncis, and so many more. There are also special species which it's hard to get. For example, a drawk. You can't just walk into Create A Pet and say you want one. You have to get an egg. You can paint them or customize them. -User Lookups You can write stuff about yourself, and code it to make your lookup look cool. The only part I don't like about that is that you have to use HTML, and I can never figure the damn thing out. -Boards You can talk to other users, if you're over 13. Or said that you are. I stay away from the boards, so I won't get iced. Iced, and Frozen, are other words for getting kicked off of Neopets forever. If you do go on the boards, beware. Some people over react and report you over the tinest things. -Games Some are easy, some are hard. You earn neopints (money) from them. I get around 30k a day from playing games. -Exploring There are lots of lands on Neopets, each with a different theme. -Neopian Times A "newspaper" full of user submitted material. Gosh, theres more, I think, but I can't remember them. All in all, Neopets is a great site, but like every site, it has its flaws. And its addicting. Very, very addicting.

An online game, originally designed for college students, but has developed to target mainly kids with its promotions like happy meals. Yet, if you dare go on the neoboards and post "This is a kids site" You'll get flammed by a ton of users saying that it wasn't created for kids. But guess what? It is now, and no, you are not awesome just because you know the fact that it didn't start as a kids site. Yeah, it was good a long time ago, but it sucks now. One reason being, that once the staff realized they could make money off their lame site, they really over-did it with the sponsors and advertising. You even have to PAY MONTHLY to enjoy the site to its fullest, which you have to be an idiot spending your money on IMAGES ON A WEBSITE. And what better audience to target than young kids? With the cute colorful characters and happy meals and what not. With all the little 12 year olds joining the site, the more the neoboards get clogged with spam. This brings up many more subjects. One being, how the monitors can't handle it. And by deleting the general chat, all the other boards get spammed up. Of course older users, that are still completely clueless, aren't going to go to the newbies board thinking that they are not a newbie and they don't know where else to go. So most of them end up at the help chat. From there, they get flamed by DOZENS of users, and report happies that think they are cool, or doing good insulting and reporting them. This could even lead to getting their account frozen. THE SPAM PROBLEM COULD BE UNDER CONTROL if you guys didn't get an ego boost by flaming and bumping up every pointless topic on the boards. I mean, one person telling the creator of the topic that it is spam is enough, not dozens of users. It only bumps the topics up, clogging the boards with the spam that bothers everyone oh so much. When if you only payed attention to topics that mattered, the spam ones would'nt stay on the first page for very long if more people just ignored them with maybe one warning telling the user that it is spam. Then theres the games. When is neopets going to realize that there are so many programs created to cheat on their games? Have you ever seen accounts with DOZENS of game trophies? Or the same users getting the highscore on every single game that month? Hah. Don't even get me started with customization. I guess its "cute" dressing your pets up, but the neopets staff just added a ton of extra unnessasary work for them to do. Not to mention how ugly the new redraws are, and how stupid the clothes looks on most pets since the colors and thicknesses of the lines stand out and look bad. What if they release a new species now? They'll have to draw hundreds of clothing that was already released to fit that new species. And Honestly, I think the NC mall was the only reason they went through with the customzation idea. Once people realize how fun it is customzing their pet, the'll pay money for more clothes to put on their pets. And they're expensive too. Then we have favoritism. Face it, some users are adored by the staff. One good example would be Shaddykins. This person cannot draw for shit, yet they let her in almost every art gallery page, just because she talks to at least one of the staff members. Did you know that you win 10,000 nps and a rare item everytime you get in the art gallery? They're basically giving her free handouts. And she lies about it too, saying she earns all her neopoints from playing games. Ha, bullshit. She's not the only favored user in the art gallery. And not the only favored user on the site either. But enough of that. Neopets has so many REDICULOUS rules that aren't even stated clearly anywhere, thats why so many people break them and get their accounts frozen. You can't say hell or damn? People wouldn't know since they say hell and damn all over the site.

Since every entry for Neopets is negative and filled with swearwords, I'm going to type up an entry for a dictionary that I may never use. Neopets is a virtual pet site where you can own Neopets, play games, earn [Neopoints], buy clothes, food and toys and for over-13 users, you can chat on the [Neoboards], an online forum limited to Neopets topics and utilize [Neomail], which is a function that can mail other Neopets users. Neopets - a collective name for a group of diverse virtual pets. Some neopets are Limited Edition which means that you can only get them on their respective celebratory day (except for the Lutari) and some are Restricted, which means you have to do something different or go somewhere else to find one. Neopoints - the currency of Neopets. You can earn them through games, the stock market, restocking and some lucky REs. You can buy clothes, toys and food for your neopets with neopoints. Neoboards - an online forum limited to Neopets users and topics. There are avatars to find around the site that you can use on the neoboards. There are different topics like Merchandise, Neoquest, Roleplaying, Newbies, Battledome and Avatars and Neosignatures. Neomail - a mail service limited to Neopets users. If you neomail too much, you can be neomail-banned. There are other aspects of the site such as Neofriends, stat-raising and so on. As for the report-happy stuff, it's true. As for the unfair freezing, that's true. However, that doesn't mean you can go and swear about Neopets. In fact, if you're even going to swear about something virtual, then you're a serious loser. And just because you can doesn't mean you can accuse [Neopets] of dirty stuff like hypocrisy. And anyways, Jazz has been frozen. BTW, the only reasons why you are frozen are because: 1. You broke a rule. 2. You've been caught in a freezing spree. 3. You were wrongly frozen in a single case (that means not in a freezing spree), in which you usually are unfrozen, as in the case of Carla. Neopets is glitchy at times, like all other virtual pet/game sites. Judging from what you wrote, I can infer that all of you that wrote those negative articles wrote those articles like 2 years ago.

It was created for bored [college] students but was converted to be kid-friendly when a bunch of under-20s started playing. That was all scrapped, though, when I started playing. The games aren't always updated but the old ones are still fun. Every June, there's an "Altador Cup" thing and we play games to earn points to win the Cup\! You also earn neopoints from playing games. Over-13s or kids with a [consent] form mailed/faxed to TNT (The Neopets Team) get to go to the Neoboards, a place where one board is singled out to be spammed and all the others are virtually spam-free. Battledome chatters are rich, Avatar chatters are mostly stuck-up and have "[elite]" friends. All in all, Neopets is a fun game site where coding is easy to do and hopefully they change the new [layout] back to the old one ^^

One of, if not the, greatest virtual community on which to play free-of-charge. Adam and Donna do need to make a living\! They have no other job because they love neopets. Sometimes people DO get [iced] or [frozen]. However, this is because usually people use [abers] and cheat programs. It is sometimes not the case - but there IS no perfect system .. All-in-all, neopets is a fun, family site. Perhaps a little too much reference to asparagus, but people of all ages come and play in their spare time. There are indeed ways to get rich, contrary to popular belief. Some people just don't like that it is hard, and takes effort. It is sort of pointless, being unrelated to the real world, but it's extremely fun to do.

A website that is better than [Runescape] in everyway, The reasons being: 1) You don't have to pay, to get total use of the website. 2) It's much harder to gain Neopoints (Neopets currency) then it is to gain [Runescape] coins which makes it more challenging. The reason most people would say "neopets sucks" on this website, is because they swear on the boards and are frozen for it. Even though Neopets is addictive it is also extremely fun and you won't find anything better on the internet. I have an average account, but I love this game and if you have a problem with [noobs] remember, they have no intelligence, it's not their fault, they were born that way. Either ignore them or block them.

Neopets is good not bad people only hate cause they're frozen. Most people think that rich people on neopets buy thier items and neopoints. There is no current way to do such a thing. PS I wish I could.
